Setting Password on Brother MFC-7860DW Printer

Factory Reset and Override Public Setting Password on Brother MFC-7860DW Printer

February 22, 2020 by Admin

Hey everybody this is brother MFC 7860DW printer what I had a problem with and I was I resolved it and I just wanted to share with you over here on the screen it’s at public, this is what it means basically either you are someone before you set a password on this printer to avoid yeah it changes to the settings being made without the password.

Factory Reset Brother MFC-7860DW/MFC-7460DN Printer

So that’s usually done in a public place in an office or something like that where a few people use it and usually the manager just sets it to where nobody can change the password, change the settings, they can just make copies, scan, print in facts off of it but they cannot change the initial settings.

But I didn’t know the password so I was looking for a way to reset this, and basically see reset this printer and do the factory reset also. What we’re gonna do is, we’re gonna first open the front door here this is very important.

So this is far part of the procedure, so then we’re gonna press menu star 2 8 6 4. We’re gonna try that again main you start to 8 6 4 and then we’re gonna hear a long beep, like the one we heard right now.

We’re gonna close the front cover and we’re gonna see maintenance on the display right here. And we’re gonna scroll down, we just need 99, that would let us reset the printer.

The printer resets,  and now we should begin. Okay now we have the printer reset itself. We’re at the screen by now if you did the same thing you should have something like this where it just says standard, with the date and you can always change that so if I go to the settings right now, I have no problem doing that.

For example if I need to print reports, so we scroll down to grant report so we’re gonna print user settings, and that’ll show us the page count and everything else. So now I was able to print this report basically looks like this printer was just sitting around possibly the owner, the previous owner bought it, set a password and forgot.

What it was and never used it looks like to me, because toner looks like it’s been sitting around do the quality and then there’s only 57 pages printed total on this printer.

But if you have something like this it’s a good printer, if you just need to reset it that’s all you need to do. Read more printer tutorials at cekprinter.com
